New DD technology/// featuring writable disks which are much SI> I'm talking about N64. Of couse add ons will make the system better, SI> but I'm talking about N64 now. The way it was designed. what about the 32X, sega CD..etc... those were HORRIBLE add-ons... the 64DD will boot the n64 in so many ways, for a low price too (with a game AND it does come with the memory expansion) And the only thing wrong with the design of the n64 is the limited storage of carts... disks will help fix that problem... data is easily compressed on n64 so the carts can hold more than you think SI> I don't really see much of an improvement over Zelda 64 from Mario SI> 64. It looks the same but with Link instea=ad of Mario, different SI> levels, RPG, etc. It still looks the same as Mario. Mario was a platform game.. not an RPG... Zelda has added so much realism its amazing... the graphic effects are awesome, they have lightning effx, and daylight control into night etc... There are more textures than any other n64 game.. and all the extras are cool... The map is HUGE, you can ride horses, theres the part where you start off as a kid and then in the next part, youve grown up and can use bigger weapons... the battle scenes are GREAT.. i saw a video, and from what ive seen the control is seamless. In MArio there was a ton of camera orientation problems... there are absolutely none in Zelda... Every other Zelda game was an instant hit, and A link to the Past (SNES), and Links Awekening (GB) are still #1 on the charts in Nintendo Power. Shigeru Miyamoto is a gaming genius and Im sure he wont let us down with the 64 version of one of my favorite series. -veed -*- TurboEDIT v1.60a+ [MSP96] --- Ezycom V1.48g0 01fa0167 * Origin: Milky Way, Langley, BC [604] 532-4367 (1:153/307) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 170 VIDEO GAMES Ref: F2A00019 Date: 02/05/98 From: JOSH CENDER Time: 03:39pm \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: Megabits and Bytes There are some of you who say n64 carts are 16MegaBITS, and therefore are truly 2MegaBYTES. Thanks for not trashing the VF series... it IS a good series, just not for the total hard-core fighter. Something I admire in it (beyond always being the best-looking game for its time) is that you can quite easily avoid a button-mashing fight, which happens all-too-easily with the SF series. You're right about the SF combos though. Before the Alpha series, it was basically special moves that won the day. PS Something that's kind of odd... since there's an SF Alpha 2, shouldn't it be SF Beta? :-) --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: BitByters BBS, Rockland ON, Can. If they were predominantly fundamentalist Christians, would we have ever seen games like Ultima VIII (where part of the game involves pentagram-based rituals) or Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain? Probably not. More than likely, they're just overprotective parents. Also, I don't think there's ever really been a TRUE fundamentalist Christian (except for Jesus, of course). A lot of us don't love our neighbours as ourselves. KV> Why not? If a 7-year old can understand G.I Joe and KV> Transformers then they can KV> grasp RE.
