Entries RF> should be earned on the field and the tournament should not RF> be tilted one way or another. EG> Why not? All tournaments are seeded to provide the best possible EG> matchups for the championship. It is subjective and inherently unfair. EG> If a team falls then it falls, however, it has a better chance EG> of advancing to the ultimate game than if a random pick puts EG> them against the top team right away. The same could be said of the teams you deem weak. If they fail, they fail. They also have a better chance of advancing if they don't have to play a top team right away. And it is fairer if they draw that team at random rather than based on someone's subjective criteria. Woe is us. I don't think so. New Orleans needs someone who will make the tough decisions and Iron Mike is just that person. RF> No. The game has changed since he got out. He can't just RF> be a head coach anymore. You make it seem like he's been out of coaching as long as Vermeil. He last coached in 1992, one year before Johnson left the Cowboys. Can you say that one year makes that much of a difference between Johnson and Ditka? RF> He now will have to romance free agents and put up with some of his RF> selections. Witness what Mike Holmgren did with Desmond Howard, RF> Andre Rison, and Keith Jackson. Those are problem children by any RF> definition. In the first place, nothing really has changed with Howard, Jackson or Rison. All are playing at the same talent level as they did in the past but they're doing it for a winning team. Howard STILL can't win a starting spot on the Packers and he had his chance for more playing time when guys were hurt but never did do much with it. His biggest contribution to the Packers is his special teams play and that's been no different than the past. In the second place, he doesn't have to romance free agents. Free agency isn't the cure all nor is it the road to hell. All he has to do is put together the best TEAM and the thing that will hurt him more will be cap restrictions. Do you think that Jimmy kissed any free agent butt in Miami? RF> Mike Ditka will have to be a changed man if he's going to play be the RF> newer rules.
