Right! Now we give tax incentives to move manufacturing jobs to Mexico. What do you think removal of import tariffs is? > Singling out Mexico as an enemy is misdirection and stinks of racism. Face Nobody is singling Mexico as an enemy. The only racism involved is from those who claim that companies will not move to Mexico because Mexicans are incapabl of work efficiency as high as ours. Which is really saying that they cannot wo as hard as we do. In fact what we worry about is exactly te oppsite. Mexicans are quite capable of kicking our butts at any industry if given the opportunit There is no enemies here. It is all business. I would submit that you should feel entitled to know the names of the Board of Directors, but to think that they should disclose membership names to you is a little much. Put it in perspective: Do you think AARP regularly publishes a membership list? How about the NRA? Boy Scouts? I understand the reasoning for not wanting to disclose the NUMBER of members, as well - it's a poker game. But the names of the Board should be public. --- Mad Enough Yet? * Origin: Moderator, PEROT (1:2613/101) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 168 PEROT Ref: AGE00114 Date: 12/09/93 From: CHARLES EVANS Time: 09:29am \/To: BOB MADDEN (Read 3 times) Subj: I am disappointed. -> CE> I suggest that the greatest fear that Perot should have is from -> CD> his own followers, who, sooner or later will find him out for the -> CE> egomaniacal demagogue he really is. -> No my greatest fear is that someone will actually listen to this type -> of baseless diatribe. A man after my own heart so to speak! A man who truly understands the tool he has and how to use it to the best advantage of the project at hand. And I have somewhat the same problem to overcome, except I need help to get the tool in the first place. Once I have the tool, I have plenty of people nationwide who understand what the advantages are and how to use the tool. Will you help us? Let me explain. I am the Moderator of "SMOKER" echo hosted by Family Tree BBs in Oklahoma City. Net address is 1:147/32. I want to get my echo on the backbone so it can be used to tie Smoker's Advocacy groups all over the U.S. together and give us a link for the rapid and effective communication of common problems and information. As you probably know, that takes people asking their sysops for the echo. Enough requests and you go on the backbone and national. Will you and any other reader help us fight for our cause by asking your local sysop for our echo? As for the linking of UWSA groups nationwide, you have to get the groups wanting it first. I know the Oklahoma State director of UWSA, and a couple of the workers very well. I voted for Ross Perot and I have a large number of video tapes of his speeches after he came into the race for the second time, and I have a large collection of his campaign buttons, wrist watches and just about everything I could get from his campaign. I also voted for him last time and I will do it again, or for that matter, any other candidate the UWSA wants to put up. Anyway, the group here badly needs education. They have computers, of course, but when I talk to them about the echo here and how it could help them out, they just don't know enough about it to be all that interested. They seem to think other things are far more important, and I haven't figured out what yet! In order to truly put up a UWSA front and get any political clout, it is going to be necessary to get all the horses pulling in the same direction at the same time. I would be willing to help you with that here in Oklahoma City, by relaying any information to the group that other UWSA groups would like to have relayed to OKC. If we work together to accomplish goals, we will go a lot further. As far as why should UWSA help a smoker's group or groups? Hey, we smoke and we vote too. About 1/3 of America's population still smoke. Work with us to help preserve our rights, and you will have a huge block of people who will vote for the UWSA candidates. I will personally help make sure that smokers everywhere know about the helps you give us. I can assure you that smokers united together working to help you with your/our problems can be an awful big boost to the cause for you, and UWSA standing up and helping people defend their rights and freedoms would be an awful big feather in the UWSA hat too. So how about it? Will you help us by asking for our echo from your local sysop? And keep on asking until it gets turned on nationwide?
