(Read 0 times) Subj: hello Am of the opinion that CD-ROMs killed the elite board brand of piracy. Even the FTP software sites have been dropping. At 28.8 (or even the occasional 56.6), people do not want to spend hours downloading zipped files, only to find later that a one bit hiccup has rendered the entire process useless. For those with CR Read/Write equipment, access to CDs has proven useful. Are these opinions shared? (No, I do NOT have a CD read/write drive.). He's created a 600 Meg partition, and uses it only for holding an entire CD prior to recording same. Then again, he's got a 6 or 8 Gig drive. Although he has net access I don't!), there seems to be little interest (or opportunity) in obtaining software. Your thoughts/experiences??? I guess you'll have to follow through with your stated intentions. In some respects, this parallels the Sammy Lee incident. I'd like to follow your steps in this for my own future benefit. js --- FMail 1.22 * Origin: -=Keep Watching the Skies=- Email to: ufo1@juno.com (1:379/12) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 167 NO PIRACY Ref: F3V00001 Date: 03/25/98 From: WAYNE DELISLE SR. JR> JR> John Rambo aka Steve Esbay I think you are right on with this, JR. The CD writer has become the easiest and simplest tool to copy any sort of data. I can get a CD of just about any commercial software any time, just be king. (I have access to 3 universities, and bootleg CD's are routinely passed round without incident).
