Monday December 29 1997, Juha Nousiainen said to Steve Quarrella: SQ>> Absolutely. :-) A $50 check arrived in my Christmas stocking, SQ>> and it's going to be spent on a purchase of Cream's "Those Were SQ>> the Days" boxed set I could find this thing everywhere I looked during the holidays, but would you believe it has taken me until yesterday to find a copy, now that I have the money to buy it? It's funny: I'm looking at the back of the box, musing that this was all Cream released. I wouldn't have minded the inclusion of their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction show, which, I understand was quite good. Working on getting a copy of this anyways. :) JN> What are your favourite Cream tracks? I Feel Free, Spoonful, I'm So Glad, Toad, World of Pain, Dance the Night Away, Swlabr, Those Were the Days, Deserted Cities of the Heart, Badge, Crossroads. JN> I think Crossroads is great, even if it's credited to Robert JN> Johnson, the Cream/ Eric Clapton version has got slightly different JN> words and there's quite difference in the arrangement between JN> Johnson's version. I read something from Eric Clapton some time ago where he indicated that he wished he had left "Crossroads" alone. He's still pretty high on Johnson's work, and I got the impression that he was almost embarrassed about being compared with someone of Johnson's [legendary] stature. That reminds me: My wife and I went up to just outside of Morgan City, Mississippi a few months ago to find the marker for Johnson's grave (although he's actually buried just up the road, which we didn't know at the time). I just got the pictures back yesterday, and I'll have to scan them in and make 'em available. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack out there in rural Mississippi! As you've seen, "Crossroads" is indeed one of my favourites. Definitely a jam session. JN> What's the Led Zeppelin box called? "Led Zeppelin BBC Session/Led Zeppelin Rare Interviews." I haven't yet listened to the interviews, and I tend to play the first CD the most (Material from the first two albums and then some). I've actually had most of this material, in some shape or form, for a few years, but it sure sounds good all cleaned up. Don't miss the live "Immigrant Song," and although I don't care for the song any more, "Stairway to Heaven" was played at a time before it was the Led Zeppelin musical icon that it now is. --- GoldED 3.00.Beta2+ - Spank Our Wombats! * Origin: Valencia: "Smarter than the average bear."
