(Hmmm...my offliner has gone bananas here) :) First of all, I like to wish you A HAPPY NEW YAR! ...and that is for all the other members of this conferece also. :-) Today another Brand X cd arrived in my mailbox. The cd is called {MISSING PERIOD}, and it's a MUST HAVE for an Brand X fan. Here is some words form the cd cover: This album represents the earliest known recordings of Brand X circa 1975-76. Recorded shortly before the release of the group's debut album -UNORTHODOX BEHAVIOUR- The source tapes for this material were recently recovered by Jonn Goodsall from family members in England, who presented John with a box containing all sorts of Brand X memorabilia. At the bottom of the box were some old reels of tape of unknown orgin. Upon review John and Percy realized that they had uncovered a long lost treasure - excellent quality recordings of Brand X's classic lineup performing previously unreleased material. This documents a period of the band's history which has been missing for over twenty years! There's "NO ACCOUNTING" for good fortune and the result is {MISSING PERIOD} Let's talk a little of the differnt tracks, it's six of them: Track1 - _Dead Pretty_ is familiar. I'm not sure yet, but I think it's the opening track on _Unorthodox Behaviour_ Anyway, this version is VERY different from the original, so that doesn't matter. Track2 - _Kugelblitz_ is totally new for me. I've never heard it before. An excellent track this is... Track3 - _Anicent Mysteries_ There are something that sound a bit familiar to somethin I've heard before here, but I can't figure out what. The track is absolutly SUPER! :D Track4 - _Why don't you lend me yours? Well, this track is included on their Livealbum _LIVESTOCK_, but then again it sounds so totally different, so it's like a brand new track to me.... Track5 - _Miserable Virgin_ Another track who also can be found on _Morrocon Roll_ & _LIVESTOCK_ DON'T let any of theese facts scaring you of buying the cd. This song also sunds very much different from the original _MALAGA RGIN_ Track6 - Tito's Leg_ Well, there are parts who sound familiar tom me here also, but I'm not able to place it. The sound Quality of the album is farly good, and from a scale from 1-10, I will not hesitate to give it a 9,5 :-) Musicians: Phil Collins (Drums), John Goodsall (guitars), Presto Heyman (Percussions), Percy Jones (Bass) Robin Lumley (Keyboards) I ordered this cd from an Internet record store: CDWORLD ttp://cdworld.com/ cd's who are remastered. It's quite amazing what they can do with old recordings theese days. The sound quality could maybe have been even better on some of them, but all in all I think they have done a greate job. MM> I haven't heard ReLOAD yet MM> but by the radio songs I've heard it's better than LOAD. You're right about that, but it still isn't anything like their older albums at all. BTW: With everybody telling me that the black album was NOT the best, I starting listening to their older stuff, and I came to the conclusion that everyone was right. Justice For All really kicks ass! I'm looking forward to having their other older stuff copied. MM> They learn from their mistakes Or, when we're talking about Metallica, they learn mistakes :) MM> You are right that Reload is heavier than LOAD. "Fuel", which MM> I heard today, was pretty heavy with a decent groove too it. MM> The vocals were too harsh/badass sounding, but otherwise a MM> pretty decent song. I think that's a pretty good song, not LOAD-stuff at all. In most cases, a one or two line quote is sufficient. Quote only enough to keep the thread coherent, no more.
