Yes, I have it. I like it better than Fight for the Rock. I just received FFTR as a x-mas gift on CD,but I didn't think it was very good. -> This album is maybe a bit too pornoish in the lyrics for me. HEy, don't forget the song She's in Love from Gutter Ballet. Not exactly the most innocent sounding lyrics I've come across. jay --- ViaMAIL!/WC4 v1.30 * Origin: Chowdanet! 20gb Amateur Radio BBS (401-331-5587) (1:323/120) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 166 MUSIC Ref: EGX00001 Date: 12/26/97 From: JAY ROBERTS Time: 09:11pm \/To: GRAHAM DRUMMOND (Read 0 times) Subj: Album Of The Week -> I've always admired concept albums. Same with me, Graham. I love the concept albums that come out, Savatage, Maiden, WASP, Fates Warning, Helloween. -> As you should have guessed by now, I'm very impressed with this -> album. From the first note to the last, it's a class act. Five -> stars. I'd definetly agree with you on this rating. The Crimson Idol ranks as one of my favorite albums. The drummer for WASP, Stet Howland, used to live in my town, and now comes back every so often. I have a part time job in a convenience store and he comes in when he's home, so I get to talk to him about what is going on with the band and such. It's very cool because I get to have an inside scoop on what the band is doing musically. -> By the way, does anyone know what, if anything, W.A.S.P. stands -> for? A rumour used to go around that it was "We Are Sexual -> Perverts" It also was accused of standing for We are Sexually Perverted, and We are Satan's People. But although I don't remember were, I do remember reading some interview with Blackie, and he said it didn't stand for anything. which would make it the word "wasp" with periods in between each letter. I guess nowadays you don't have to do much to have other people's imagination coming up with worse ideas about you or what you are doing, than what you could ever hope to come up with by yourself. I saw some others putting their two cents in about what they thought the best albums of 1997 were, so I figured I would post mine. I don't have a top ten because I spent most of the year filling in holes in my collection so I bought releases this year very infrequently. Anyway, here is my list: 1. Bruce Dickinson's Accident of Birth. Reunited him with Adrian Smith, and metal fans with a pure metal album. 2. Queensryche's Hear in the Now Frontier. Another step towards whatever height they are reaching towards the edge of their minds for. Followed up by a fantastic tour. 3. Fleetwood Mac's The Dance I thought it was one of the best Live albums in a long time, and getting the lineup that produced "Rumours" back together was just one of, what I thought were many, things that was good about this album. 4. Paul Rodgers's Now and Live. 2 CD set, with very little promotion beyond first single, "Soul of Love." 1st CD is new album with at least 3 standout tracks, and 2nd CD is a live show that covers his whole career and demonstrates his phenomenal abilities. 5. Dream Theater's Falling Into Infinity. This was an album that I was anticipating from the moment I learned its release date. I know it pretty much tanked in terms of radio airplay, but artistically it was a big success. 6. Kim Richey's Bitter Sweet I never thought it would happen. Another artist who comes along and makes me like country a little. First Mary Chapin Carpenter, and now Kim Richey. At first listen, I only liked a couple of songs but now that I have heard it again, I really like the album, and am all the happier that I got to catch her live a couple years back. Well, that's it for this year. Sling the arrows I'm sure are coming, I'm a big boy, but please put thought into any barbs if you feel that you just have to respond negatively towards my post, and opinion. jay --- ViaMAIL!/WC4 v1.30 * Origin: Chowdanet! 20gb Amateur Radio BBS (401-331-5587) (1:323/120) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 166 MUSIC Ref: EGX00006 Date: 12/27/97 From: STEVE QUARRELLA Time: 10:39am \/To: JAY ROBERTS (Read 0 times) Subj: Lita Hello, Jay...
