I have been getting into some music from the detroit scene, and I can't get albums around here for their bands. (Except for driving to NY to see shows and buying them at the show) I would really apprecite it if you live in the Detroit area if you can get back to me. I really am looking for some tapes/Cd's by Insane Clown Posse, The House Of Krazees, The Flake, 20 Dead Flower Children, and The Charm Farm. I some ICP around here, but everything else I just can't get. I know most of these bands aren't on big record labels, but if you can get them in your area please respond. It's very good. The songs are now written totally by Vitalij Kuprij (music) and John West (lyrics and vocal melodies). Both have matured incredibly since their first CD. John West further solidifies his position as one of the top 3 metal singers of all time. This CD is neo-classical prog metal at its finest. Kuprij has to be one of the best keyboardists alive- he's right up there with Jordan Rudess and Kevin Moore. The songs themselves are at times slow, melodic, and at other times raging with speed. Artension combines both extremely well, with pounding double bass drums and 6-string bass filling out a PHAT rhythm section. Overall, this CD is EXCELLENT. Ed --- FMail/2 1.22+ * Origin: Dave's RA! Well, It seems to me like they took more time writing the songs on Load than they did on Reload. I'll have to admit, there are quite a few good songs on Reload, but it sounds rushed. Although, I do think Reload is less of a limelight candidate, though. At this point, I'm not real sure which album I like better. When I first listed to Reload, I wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I would be. But, the more I listen to it, the more I seem to like it. MM> A question for you: WHY do you listen to them at all??? MM> Dude don't force yourself to listen to stuff you don't seem to like..there MM> a lot of music out there I "don't mind", but i'd rather listen to the music MM> that I think KICKS ASS! Well, I guess the phrase "I don't mind it" was a little out-of-context there. That's my fault. I do like both of those albums. I sold all my other Metallica stuff. I guess it's the more I listen to the music, the more I ike it. It just took me a while to warm up to it. :) ô䜜⒋s --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: The Unholy Realms BBS (517)695-9732 (1:239/666) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 166 MUSIC Ref: EGJ00003 Date: 12/13/97 From: CHRIS SCOTT Time: 09:30am \/To: MARTIN BRUNAS (Read 0 times) Subj: Re: re-load= trash MB> I'd heard RELOAD and it's a trash. It's the worst Lp that I've hear in my MB> life. Could somebody tell me where is METALLICA? Actually, I like Reload a lot better than any of Metallica's first 5 lbums... From "Kill 'em All" to "...And Justice for All", they sounded altogether too repetetive. They tried something different on the Black Album, but all that album did is ruin their image to fans like you. Load and Reload, however, re yet a 3rd style that isn't really bad. Yeah, it's nothing compared to their early stuff, but it's appealing to me. I got sick of hearing their black album songs on the radio constantly, and after a while, their older stuff caught on and just became too trendy. They're not doing that with their two new albums. Yeah, it's not the same kind of music as they started out making, but their heavy stuff is way too dated. It was 80's metal, and 80's metal doesn't fly too well here in the late 90's. I'm one of those people ho like their change. ô䜜⒋s --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: The Unholy Realms BBS (517)695-9732 (1:239/666) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 166 MUSIC Ref: EGJ00004 Date: 12/13/97 From: CHRIS SCOTT Time: 09:33am \/To: CHRISTER SOLSTRAND (Read 0 times) Subj: Re: all CS> CSc> There was a time when we went back and forth for a couple of CS> CSc> weeks between and Metallica hater/industrial lover and a CS> CSc> Metallica lover/industrial hater. You probably like alternative music like moist or whatever LB> and you liked the album. I don't blame you. The problem is alternative LB> listeners start to listen to Metallica which means Metallica is going LB> down to the mainstream. Well, when the Black Album came out, every radio station around was playing "Enter Sandman" (even the pop/R&B stations that NEVER play rock music). For months, you couldn't turn on MTV or the radio without hearing a song off that album. They played the songs to death. Even now, it turns me off to hear ne of the songs from that album. MTV constantly played their video. At that time, they played Metallica and rap. Those were the only videos MTV ever played (Now, they only play rap videos). And that's the ONLY reason why it lasted so long on the Billboard charts. It wwasn't a metal album, it was a pop rock album. They made that album solely for the purpose of making money. And in the process, they turned off a lot of their dedicated fans. Metallica's been mainstream since The Black Album came out. Their last two albums have just caught my ear and they grew on me. ô䜜⒋s --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: The Unholy Realms BBS (517)695-9732 (1:239/666) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 166 MUSIC Ref: EGJ00006 Date: 12/13/97 From: SCOTT TAYLOR Time: 04:28pm \/To: DAVE NEUMAN (Read 0 times) Subj: Green Day's "Nimrod" -=> Quoting Dave Neuman to All <=- DN> Basically, Green Day fans will love it, and people who've said "I just DN> wish all their songs didn't sound the same.." but couldn't help digging DN> their tight, fast, loud sound will be thrilled.
