I've seen a few messages in one or the other, in addition to those from the backbone advising that the Elist entry's expired and they won't be on the backbone much longer. However, I suspect that the backbone operation's not being as picky as maybe it once was about such things due to a general fall-off of FidoNet message traffic, presumably in favor of the internet. --- Via Silver Xpress V4.4P [Reg] --- QM v1.30 * Origin: FOG-Line - Ankeny Iowa - 515-964-7937 (1:290/627.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 163 WORD PERFECT Ref: E3300002 Date: 02/28/97 From: BRUCE WILSON Time: 09:08am \/To: MATTHEW MONTCHALIN (Read 5 times) Subj: Re: Thesaurus On 26 Feb 97 12:07am, Matthew Montchalin wrote to All: MM> The documentation manual for WP 5.1 is really hard to use. I think that book is extremely useful when it comes to understanding fonts. OTOH, the years I have been messing with WP 5.1 have not been that helpful... How does WP 5.1 keep track of the fonts? If you assign an ID to a particular font before transferring it from the hard drive to the laserprinter (it being a softfont), how will WP 5.1 be able to keep track of it? The only HP Programmer's Guide that I have is the one from the early days of the HP+ ---- back when the printer had a much more limited series of escape sequences. I've gone through some three or four HP compatible laserprinters. My most recent one is an HP 4P. --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Com-Dat BBS - Hillsboro, OR. The question of supplementation has -> seemingly exclusively concerned the dictionary (speller) rather than -> the thesaurus. Weird. Well, anyway, so what's the general structure of the Thesaurus? It sounds like it would be pretty darn fat & clumsy if every word were repeated for every instance of synonymity (antonymity?). OTOH, there has to be SOME reduplication somewhere along the line. But then again, to save space (yeah, right, the way modern software is going), you'd think that the words would be compressed as much as possible... --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Com-Dat BBS - Hillsboro, OR. I had this same problem when attempting (operative word) to upgrade from 5.1+ to 6.1. Submitted a bug report but never got any satisfaction -- WP could not reproduce the problem. Have you had this problem with tables that were created anew in v7? I _think_ it may be due to importing tables from an earlier version of WP that created some kind of incompatibility. --- msged 2.05 * Origin: Silver Bullet - Silver Spring, Md - 301-622-2247 (1:109/417)
