It seems that the only known solution is to delete those files manually. If the unwanted files are always in the same directory (as I suspect) named, say, D:\TEMP, I'd suggest launching WP with a batch file whose last line would be if exist d:\temp\*.tmp del d:\temp\*.tmp I think this approach is a little cleaner and more efficient than Phil Heberer's suggestion that you include the same command in AUTOEXEC.BAT, because it gets rid of the files when you exit from WP, instead of waiting until you reboot. Howdy Y'all! Does anyone happen to know if WPWin 6.1 is capable of doing vertical split-screen editing? To explain things a little better, what I'm doing is writing lesson plans for work. On the left 2/3 of the page, the objectives of the lesson are written in outline format. In the right 1/3 are notes or other comments to act as memory joggers. I know I can set up two columns, but any editing in the first column throws the formatting off on the second colum, and I would like to avoid any additional editing if possible every time the objectives are updated. In other words, I need the text in the left side of the page to continue on the next page, rather than flow over to the next column. Any ideas? Also, my inkjet printer (A Canon BJ-610) prints the pages facing up as they come out of the printer. Is there any way to set the defaults where it will print the last page first, rather than having to set the options each time I want to print? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Phil Heberer ... That's right (well, we could talk about other programs in the family -- ED comes with 6.0/DOS, but its macros are similar to WP5.x/DOS macros, as are SHELL macros, etc.), the serious portability problems are limited to 5.x/DOS. The portability problems of later versions of WPerf are annoying but not serious. --- SLMAIL v4.0a (#0304) * Origin: Free Spirit =*= SL/RIP =*= 301-283-0917 =*= V32b/HST (1:109/132) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 163 WORD PERFECT Ref: DDM00004 Date: 09/15/96 From: DAVID SEIDMAN Time: 10:48pm \/To: DEON STRYDOM (Read 7 times) Subj: Coded messages DS> I tested it just now, saved a macro as cal.asc (standard ASCII format), DS> called it into WP 6.0Dos again, saved it as CL.WPM, ran the macro "CL", DS> and WP compiled it and ran it, no sweat. I've complained about 7.0W's slowness on loading, in presenting the file manager for use, in generating an index; and the inconvenient file manager format, unlike the 6.0D and 6.1W format. Others here have noted how a 1M WP DOS file expands to 2M just by bringing it into 7.0W. Are these unfounded blatant mis-truths? Complaints against me have been non-objective and of a personal nature because I responded against some childish attacks. Are we supposed to accept anything that Corel offers and praise it just because it's new, and from Corel? Aren't we supposed to criticize if we itemize what the complaints concern? I asked this flaming be stopped 2 weeks ago and they continued!
