Hope you saw exchange with Auke Reitsma. The Left Indent was indeed inserted in a wrapped line, not preceded by a hard return. The articles had been converted from ASCII, and I had inserted Left Indents to shape them up without doing all the proper work. --bob --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: CPAFUG WashDC Area (301) 989-8960 (1:109/422) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 163 WORD PERFECT Ref: DAD00002 Date: 06/08/96 From: PHIL HEBERER Time: 07:59am \/To: MARCUS BYRON (Read 9 times) Subj: Corel WP Suite V7.0 Hello Byron, On (06 Jun 96) Marcus Byron wrote to All... I don't know about the release version, but I ordered the WP Suite 7.0 beta directly from Corel about three weeks ago, but haven't recieved it yet! Since it's a limited time use product, I'm NOT too happy with their service so far! I should qualify for their free upgrade, so perhaps I will get the full release version when it comes (which would be nice, but I'm NOT holding my breath!) I'm still at novice level with WP, but will be happy to share my opinion of it once I get it! Cheers, Phil ... Which is 'expensive' unless you pay the phone company only a fixed amount of money per call. An offline reader is much more convenient that way. And AFAIK any Maximus BBS supports QWK type offline readers, such as "Offline v1.58" which I used for years until a few weeks ago. And one of the other pleasant things of offline readers is that you usually can configure them to use external editors for writing messages. Such as WP's ED from the old WP Office package (not PerfectOffice!!!) and WP6dos. Even WPdos itself could be used as long as you save the results as ascii. So ask you sysop about the possibilities. Maybe I can help too with setting things up just right -- but use email as that is too much off topic here. I got the CD ROM version of Office Suite 6.0...special offer for $99. Had a problem and called their help line to find out that 7.0 was due out in a month and was to be written for WIN95. (NOW you tell me!) Found you could get an update floppy by about the same time or, if the release is within a month of purchase of 6.0, get the CD ROM update free. The only problem I've had is WP 6.1W crashing occasionally(*) and having to re-boot because "...can't initilize." Other than that I've had no problems--except falling asleep at the keyboard waiting for things to happen. *|=0zzzzzzzzz I have solved that latter problem, except for a few cases, by staying with 5.1+! (*)My crashes occured after bring in a 1.5M 2-column genealogy file from 5.1+ that has 11,500 names marked for index. When I tried to ^G across page 118 WP6.1W would crash. I found a bad(?) THCol instruction that was causing that. I'll not use 6.1W for this document, it takes forever to do anything. (It also grows to 2.9M with 6.1W!!!) Generating the index in 5.1+ takes 3 mintues; with 6.1W it takes 15 mintues--all this on a P100 with 16 megs of RAM!!! I primarily wanted 6.1W for it's graphics capabilities; that's turning out not to be too practical. My latest genealogy report (100 pages with 50 photos) turns out to be 5Megs and takes 5 minutes to load! Going through the doc to check pagination taxes one's patience to the limit! I'm too old (at 67) to mess with 6.1W too much, I don't have that much time left. ;=) --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: Selective On-Line (tm) - Santa Fe, NM - (505) 473-9765 (1:15/11)
