You all missed it!!! Or, at least, no one here has posted their awareness of this small tidbit of a joke as yet. Zorch has an excuse for missing it, because he was, by his own accounting, busy flossing a cat's teeth ... and I *know* how insistent those NeoCats at the Lab can be. At first glance, when we first see the inside of Kate's "Cafe Amercain"-esque watering hole, the writers seem to be going overboard with the _Casablanca_ allusions, right? Seven might as well be singing "As Time Goes By." But instead, she's singing another highly popular tune from the Hit Parade of summer, 1942, "It Can't Be Wrong." Of course, 1942 was a very successful year at Warner Brothers for veteran film composer Max Steiner, who penned the melody the song is based on, and also wrote the music for _Casablanca,_ so these could all be simply a fine attempt at incorporating some quite sound and historically accurate touches. But, no -- our collective leg is being subtly pulled ... and I'm not going to spoil this wonderful groaner of a pun for anyone by being too obvious. Heck, I'll even make it a sporting proposition by positing that its worth a meter-high stack of Bunos Points to answer the trivia question involved if you can recover from the mirth-attack that will undoubtedly ensue. Granted, of course, your mileage may vary. Some small hints: it has to do with the title of that *other* 1942 Steiner-scored movie alluded to above. The "love theme" from that film is the melody for "It Can't Be Wrong," and it's also notable for having won the Oscar for Best Score that year. It starred Bette Davis, Paul Henried and Claude Rains ... And, with _KIlling Game_ this bit of movie trivia is firmly enshrined in the realm of Trek trivia for the rest of eternity! Be Seeing You. It was designed by Sisko after the Battle at Wolf 359 when he was assigned to a shipyard (can't remember which). It was shown to be overpowered for its size during testing, and was shelved after the Borg threat was solved. Mostly forgotten until Sisko got it for assistance at DS9.
