You know , Bob, I still have not solved the problems with these formating characters going from WP5 to Word7. You mentioned once to go into FORMAT and click on "Change to TEXT". I did go on that menu but the "Change to TEXT" is in light grey and therefore not clickable. I tried the "Delete format" (?) and the whole paragraph disappeared. UNDO qwick! Ouf, that was close. But as you mentioned, the ---- hatched lines are there, really showing that there is paragraph formatting. And they all have that little circle with 4 spindly legs. Bob, hello. The text that I try to get Word7 to convert is the book on Loran C that the Coast Guard has on I-Net. It is called the Green Book. Should you go and D/L it to see where the problem would be, I would be willing to provide the funds required for a few minutes of access. No need to D/L the whole 7 files. Nor the Addenda. Just try the first one and see for me. They are suffixed " WP5 ". Search for " Navigation " or " Coast Guard " and you should be able to find the Green Book. I do not at all suggest that you do this but if you have a free minute or two... There might be something else in them that prevents Word7 to convert the WP5 files. >>> QWKRR128 V5.0B [R] --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Juxtaposition BBS. Lasalle, Quebec, Canada (1:167/133)
