The word processor included is a variant of Word (perhaps 8.0?) Office 97 offers a degree of integration of its parts which has to be seen to be believed; I can open my browser from its tool bar. It also offers a new macro language and a different file structure which is a mixed blessing. I hope that I am posting in the right place. I had to reformat my hard drive and I went to reinstall word95. I got to disk six and it would not open the file. Telling me that it is corupt. But I like to read the stuff. Hello Jean, I have not read nor have I searched any manuals for this knowledge. I tried several different default printers to see what would happen with the formatting. The first time this happened to me I had three different printers, a laser, ink jet, and an old impact - each with a different driver and each formatted a little differently. Now I only use a laser and other printers (impact or inkjet) that I use must work as an Epson model. This keeps it simple for me. I should think that MS may have some data in their knowledge base which you could search while on-line at their site. I would imagine that one should look for the word formatting. {Bquinn} --- DeLuxe 1.26b #83sa Proofread carefully to see if you any words out. --- FLAME v1.1 * Origin: Tampa Bay Computer Society * (813)298-8693 (1:3603/570) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 156 MS WORD Ref: E4I00001 Date: 04/11/97 From: NEIL TAPP Time: 11:23pm \/To: DALE SHIPP (Read 3 times) Subj: Re: MS OFFICE 97 question DS> I am currently using Microsoft Office, which includes MS Word version DS> 6.0. Dear All, This FTN network is for all computer professionals: programmers, computer artists & musicians, publishers, professional & dummy users, etc. Welcome! === Cut === THE BASIC NETWORK network for software & hardware designers ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Basic Network was established in 1996 by two Basic programmers from Moscow/Russia: Michael Yevdokimov and Sergey Chabunin. The Basic Network is the global network which joines the software and hardware designers. One of the main ways of The Basic Network is education. Also its members develope the network software, shareware and freeware. Up to this time The Basic Network has the branches in different parts of Russia and CIS. In the nearest time BASICNet will have the same branches in other parts of the world. The Basic Network Technology BASICNet works as Fidonet Technology Network (FTN), i.e. as offline system. The mail exchange between the hosts of BASICNet is working using Email or Internet File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Between our members you will be able to find different computer writers, programmers, computer artists, etc. Also you will be able to find the partners of such software and hardware giants as Borland, Gupta or Logic Works. FTP servers support the UUE and simple attachments. You can request the file less that 300k. But if you locate in another region you could request the files only as UUE. NEWS servers can send you the UUE and attachments. The transfer way they choose by themselves. FAQ servers can send you the UUE and attachments.
