I've noticed lately that everytime I start up Windows95, a file names ~oleapp.doc appears in my C:\Windows\Temp directory with the time that I started Windows up. The file can in no way be opened or viewed. Since it's a .doc file, I'm wondering if it's linked with Word 7.0. Anyone got any ideas? Is it happening to anyone else? --- Adam ___ * UniQWK v4.2 * The Windows Mail Reader --- FLAME v1.1 * Origin: METROPOLIS 8O5.945.O349 28.8K V.34+ Lancaster, CA (1:2004/226) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 156 MS WORD Ref: DB400004 Date: 06/25/96 From: ADAM ALSOP Time: 09:37pm \/To: BOB DAVIS (Read 10 times) Subj: RE-PAGINATION Bob, BD>I wrote a macro that loops through a document section by section and sets the BD>page numbering consistently. I'll post that macro. I got your macro (thanks!) and I'll try it out. I ended up calling MS Word tech support on it (after wasting over a dozen hours trying to figure it out 8{ She had me upload the file to their file acces board and it took her quite a while to figure it all out. I have a *lot* of section breaks (14 in the 1st 3 pages) and that was what was causing the problem - one of the breaks was retaining incorrect page info, and we had to go through it section by section to find out which one it was. We deleted the offending section's footer, went to the head of the doc (Ctrl-Home) and selected the whole doc (Ctrl-A). Then eliminated the last paragraph mark with Ctrl-Left Arrow, copied the selected text, and pasted it to a new doc. Finally, from the head of the doc, I corrected the footer and set it for the correct pages. Whew! What a pain ;} --- Adam ___ * UniQWK v4.2 * The Windows Mail Reader --- FLAME v1.1 * Origin: METROPOLIS 8O5.945.O349 28.8K V.34+ Lancaster, CA (1:2004/226) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 156 MS WORD Ref: DB400005 Date: 06/27/96 From: BETH FRIEDMAN Time: 08:34pm \/To: MIKE MCCULLOUGH (Read 10 times) Subj: Re: help MM> Does anyone know how to get Word to print out in MM> booklet form. If you're willing to do the paste-up, just set your page as a landscape document with a very wide (half a page plus the actual margin) margin. If you mean a function that will turn sequential pages into signatures (four pages per printed page in the proper order), Word doesn't do that. There's an unrelated program, ClikBook, that will work with Word files (as well as several other programs) to produce signatures. ClikBook costs around $80.00, I think. --- Sirius 1.0ya * Origin: Beth's Point: Minneapolis, MN (1:282/26.5) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 156 MS WORD Ref: DB400006 Date: 06/28/96 From: ROLAND RIBI Time: 11:53pm \/To: ALL (Read 10 times) Subj: Problems with Word 6.0 Hello Befor I write my difficulties with MS-Word 6.0 I need to say that my English is not so good! If its truly unique and cannot somehow be tied algorythmically to the page number, then you'll have to put in section breaks for every page to get unique footers. Can you give examples of your unique footer requirements? Does anyone know how to make Word 7.0 put all footnotes on the page they have been actually inserted in the text and not move some of them to the following page? For instance, I have five footnotes inserted on a page, but only three of them appear at the bottom of that page and the remaining two are moved to the next page.
