I took an old 72 f100 to a national chain repair shop and they told it was bad, then I went to a local shop that I trust and they told me they've never seen one go bad. And that mine was fine. --- FMail 1.20 * Origin: Diehard's Bar and Grill Holden, MO (816)850-4020 (1:280/429) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 155 OLD CARS Ref: EC^00001 Date: 08/29/97 From: LORI HARVEY Time: 01:05am \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: Mopars I'm hurt. I haven't checked in for almost a month because we moved and nobody missed me. Anyway...... I need some mopar parts for my hobby stock car next year. The main part that I need and the most important part is a pair of swirl port heads. These heads would be nice if they were off a old cop car or similar engine. Valves and all the other paraphenalia are not necessary. Bare heads would be nice. I'll even pay shipping. Let me know. The sooner the better. Another odd phenomena mentioned on Little Rock talk radio was the fact that there are a lotta unlicensed junkers driving around. It seems that when one is stopped and impounded, no one comes back to pay the ticket and redeem it- and the impoundment yards are full. Seems like rather than buy insurance, inspection, & tags, they just pick up a 200$ clunker that runs, and when the cops take it, just get another one. And now that the impoundment yards are all full, the cops don't wanna haul it away unless they think it will sell at auction for more than the cost of towing and storage. All in all, I cant blame them; minimum wage jobs don't pay well enough to afford a reliable car anyway, the state is too rural to have anything like a decent transit system, and the establishment still wants these folks to get to work. ___ * OFFLINE 1.58 * No, I ain't lost it... I have an old E-type that was flooded several years ago nd I am slowly restoring it. I am at the point where I wanted to connect a new battery and obviously one needs to be cautious when this is done. I tried to connect the ground terminal first (it is negative ground) before I connected the + terminal. To my surprise, there were sparks when I connected the negative terminal to the ground. I checked and there is nothing connecting the positive terminal so I do not have any idea what could be causing the completed circuit.
