Hi, and thanks for reading this. I'd like to put disk brakes on my '64 Impala. I just ripped out everything between the ball joints from a '76 Mailibu I was wrecking for another purpose, hoping that maybe the whole mess would bolt into the '64. No luck there. the distance between the ball joints is about 3" different in the two cars. I wonder if anyone out there has done disk brakes into a '64 Chev, and if so, are there wrecker parts that will do the job, or does it have to be after-market stuff? Any replies appreciated. --- Maximus 2.00 * Origin: Kettle Valley Forum BBS - Grand Forks BC Can - (1:354/910) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 155 OLD CARS Ref: EC300013 Date: 08/02/97 From: BILL CLARK Time: 04:50pm \/To: ROY WITT (Read 0 times) Subj: Tranny rebuilds On (31 Jul 97) Roy Witt wrote to Landon Robinson... As for boreing out the 265 engine, I also did it on my 56 and when it was all done, I had cylinder walls that were very thin and would flex on hard exceleration. You should have heard the racket....
