The story I've eard ZF> was that it was a matter of researching how minorities were portrayed in ZF> TV shows, and discovering that not all Negroes of the era were portrayed ZF> "a la AMOS 'N ANDY"...they found the all kinescopes of the show, the nly ZF> existing copies, and one of them portrayed the interracial kiss. The ZF> clips I saw of the show did not include the scene, but the news report ZF> made mention of it. Later, it was in a 'retrospective' of TV ZF> history...another mention, but no clip of the scene itself. I saw a clip on TV several years ago -- probably more than the 3-4 years you cite. As I recall, it was an anthology series. Playhouse 90, or some such program. Anthologies were common in the 50s. The woman was a housekeeper. The young man was maybe circa 20. They were in the kitchen, talking. The woman gave the young man a kiss. ZF> Whether it is 'convenient disremember' or simply ignorance of the ZF> information, I don't know... Probably the latter. The first hormone-based interracial kiss on TV was probably in Laugh-In, as I said in a previous message. --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: <<<>>> (1:205/1701.6) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 108 STAR TREK Ref: F1A00009 Date: 01/04/98 From: PAUL ANDINACH Time: 07:57pm \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: Quote We always wanted to have more aliens, but there are very few of them in the Screen Actors Guild. - Gene Roddenberry, 1973 --- Blue Wave/Max v2.30 [NR] * Origin: The Perth PC Users Group BBS - 08-9497-7772 (3:690/650) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 108 STAR TREK Ref: F1A00010 Date: 01/04/98 From: PAUL ANDINACH Time: 08:08pm \/To: BOB KOHL (Read 0 times) Subj: ST6 -=> Quoting Bob Kohl to Paul Andinach <=- > BK> The director and I wasn't discussing FC. Here is the deal. Worf's Parents were killed in an attack by Romulans on the planet Khitomer, which is also the planet the Klingon Chancelrette chose for the conference after her father was killed. When Worf and Dax were married, he mentioned that this was his first wedding. More important (to me), I don't think that he and K'eylar ever lived together. It looked as though they had an affair in the past, then resumed it for a period of time during which Alexander was conceived. Then they got together again years later.
