I've already tried all this stuff and got fed up with it and went out and bought a rebiuld kit for it including a new power valve, needle and seats, all the gaskets, etc... Fired it up this weekend, purrrrs like a kitten now.. I'd rather have it growling like a hungry dog on a T-Bone, but I can't afford the cam kit right now, after the rebuild, she takes right off but I found out from a friend of mine that Holley's don't have off-the-line power, it takes a few revs to start the secondarys, well, we took 'er down a gravel road and held first gear to about 5000 revs, then it worked excellent. This is the same 318 that I'm putting the Granny-Low 4 speed in, I think it'll work better with a stick shift because then I can totally control the shift pattern. It took him about 3 years to do the drawings and designs and collect the parts in his spare time but it is very well done. Here it is: 1974 Dodge Tradesman 300 Van -360 Small block, -Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley carb (750) -dual exhaust etc... Not much internal though -Almost forgot bored over to 373 -Raised about 6-8 inches, plus the 4x4 suspension -Dana 60 rear, Dana 44F front. Both Posi -Rebuilt especially for 4x4 A-727 Auto. -4x4 Transfer case -Well anyways it's got lots of room and it's very big, it has Bronco front end and from the steering knuckles out, chevy, most of the rear is stock with 4x4 springs and stuff. He had to build his own motor mounts and stuff too. 33x12.5 tires and 16.5 wheels (8 lug) I love this thing. It's the coolest (And most original) 4x4 around that I know of, and compared to those new 4x4 trucks is miles ahead :) Theres a party place in an old gravel quarry and there is a gravel hill that people try to make it up in their truck.... One day these two newer early '90 or late '80's chevy truck and an s-10 4x4 and a ford ranger I think were trying to make it up. In 2 wheel no one did even with a huge run at it. I tried the next day. I stoped about 10 feet from the bottom (So almost no run at it) and left it in 2 wheel drive and made it all the way up no prblem. :) I was so surprised at that thing. I just laugh at all the lesser 4x4's now :) Hehe.... We nicknamed it the beast too :) Anyways... I love my big dodge :) -McDale ___ X SLMR 2.1a X hAS ANYONE SEEN MY cAPSLOCK KEY? --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: Digital Encounters * Kamloops BC Canada 604/374-6168 (1:353/710) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 155 OLD CARS Ref: DFJ00006 Date: 11/04/96 From: MIKE DALE Time: 12:31am \/To: ALEXANDER BILAN (Read 3 times) Subj: Good-by AB> And the next time I see you around, I want to hear that you sold *that* AB>mini-van and replaced it with a real van with at least a 318! ;) Hehe, right on! :) Mini Vans suck :) ___ X SLMR 2.1a X Backup not found: (A)bort (R)etry (P)anic --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: Digital Encounters * Kamloops BC Canada 604/374-6168 (1:353/710) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 155 OLD CARS Ref: DFJ00007 Date: 11/04/96 From: MIKE DALE Time: 12:32am \/To: TOM COLLINS (Read 3 times) Subj: Re: Mopar 2.2 engines TC> LH> But the problem I have now, is that TC> LH> the front seal on the trany is bad, and order to fix it, I need to TC> LH> pull the engine to do it.
