Vi> they are not so bad, if not better. Would it cost me to fix a messed Vi> up body or get an engine rebuild or transplant? Mike Mueller P.S. Depends on the shape of the body. A simple paint job can run anywhere from $200-$2000, depending on where you go and the kind of paint job you want done, along with the quality... a rebuild, well, I have no idea how much that would cost.. but it'd be a good chunk of change. Transplant.. well, you could go to a junkyard and find a decent engine, then rebuild it from there, or if it's in running condition, slap it in :) --- Telegard v3.02/mL * Origin: The Other Side * (915) 590-3817 * El Paso, TX, USA (1:381/95) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 155 OLD CARS Ref: DCM00003 Date: 08/17/96 From: JOHN CARROLL Time: 11:26am \/To: MIKE VANDELINDER (Read 4 times) Subj: Old Cars MV> My first car I bought when I to was fifteen,it was a 67 cougar. The c MV> good shape but needed new quarters,I paid $150 for it in 1980.I doub I also owned a 67 Cougar but paid $2800.00 to get my hands on it.It was one of those "found tucked away in a barn"stories. It needed atail light bulb and a flex hose to pass saftey. It was in good enough condition that with a goood wash and wax,was able to take a first at a local car show.I sold it after 7 years of owning it and sometimes regret it. --- TriToss (tm) Professional 10.0 - (Unregistered) * Origin: Road Kill Central BBS (519)455-2209 (1:2401/414.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 155 OLD CARS Ref: DCM00004 Date: 08/17/96 From: LORI HARVEY Time: 12:31am \/To: ALEXANDER BILAN (Read 4 times) Subj: Re: Old cars No, I won't forget about Chargers, Cudas, and Challengers. If I get a car like those, then I will drive them on special occasions Spring thru Fall, but when the first snow flies, then I will park it and tarp it for the winter. FWD cars are better for getting through the snow. (a 4x4 is best however for that, we have one!!) I had a Dodge Magnum, it got low to mid teens for gas mileage, the window sticker on the mini-van says 19 city, 22 hwy, after the last fill-up, according to the trip meter, it got 20.5 mpg. Pretty good.....My Reliant when it's running good, will get 28-35 mpg. It loves hot humid days, the mpg really goes up then. I know what I'm talking about, I took Auto in High School, and I aced it.
